The Green Green Grass of veSpace

At veSpace, we’re proud to have been providing employment (across the world!) in the events industry for over 35 years.

Chris and Anita‘s journey began in the sleepy village of Bishopstone, Wiltshire in 1984 and their first employee was actually their next-door neighbour. The lovely Annie who many of you will remember fondly didn’t leave us until she retired over 20 years later!

Over the years we’ve employed hundreds of people, we have 100 current employees across the veSpace group with offices in Swindon, London, Leeds, Derby and Edinburgh. We love nurturing new talent and we’re proud of our Emerging Leaders Programme that offers development and training for the future stars of our business.

One trend we’ve noticed over the years is team members returning to us. There can be no higher compliment than a team member choosing to return to a business, we’re proud of our ‘boomerangs’! We have 17 team members from across the business who have left us for various reasons including family, relocation and retirement, before deciding to come back.

Our Head of Global Account Management, Laura Law takes the title for the shortest outside stint, leaving us for just 7 weeks in 2007 before deciding to return! She’s celebrating an incredible 23 years with us in 2025.

For Finance Manager Lynn Gammage, the decision to come back was a no-brainer – “The main reason for me to return to veSpace was the family atmosphere and the nature of the business, it is nothing like any business I have worked in before and it’s so interesting. Every day is different, and the people are great to work with. Anita herself is an inspirational lady.”

For Emma Gales, Global Sourcing Specialist, the role itself was the main draw “I love the variation of the work I do. I love working with our clients, venues and suppliers – I find it so interesting still (after 17 years!) and of course the team. I have the utmost respect and fascination for Anita, her dedication to her business is like no other I have come across.”

Anita Lowe, CEO of veSpace commented “I’m so proud of our incredible team and it’s such a compliment when someone decides to come back to us, they often describe it as ‘coming home’! While it’s personally flattering it’s also commercially prudent. Recruitment costs are skyrocketing and the cost of onboarding and training new talent is significant. By making veSpace a brilliant place to work, we retain a great team, keep precious experience and reduce overheads.”
