This week’s Venue Spotlight is Hilton Heathrow Terminal 5, the location of our recent Company Conference. This hotel is incredibly unique as it has a private woodland and onsite beehives and is just minutes away from Heathrow Airport. The 4-star hotel has 350 bedrooms, a newly renovated spa, and a variety of meetings and events spaces. The hotel is minutes away from Windsor with lovely views of the Windsor Castle as well as Heathrow Terminal 5. However, this hotel has a focus on environmentally friendly operations, so this week’s Spotlight is looking at sustainability.
At Hilton Heathrow T5, sustainability is at the heart of their operations. They offer eco-friendly delegate days packages, showcasing their commitment to the environment while providing exceptional experiences. From beehives and locally sourced menus to incentivising sustainable choices, the hotel is dedicated to creating memorable events with a focus on sustainability.
Buzzing with Eco-Friendly Initiatives
To support local ecosystems, the hotel has installed two beehives just outside the building. These beehives contribute to biodiversity and provide a sustainable source of honey. Their inhouse chefs incorporate this honey into dishes served at the restaurant. The beehives sit within the hotel’s private woodland area, a space where delegates can go to clear their head during a busy day. The woodland with a river running through is unusual to find at an airport hotel, but it is a fantastic addition to the venue.
Nourishing Menus
The hotel chef creates menus based on fresh, locally sourced produce, reducing carbon emissions associated with long-distance transportation. They offer a wide range of vegan and vegetarian options, lowering their environmental impact of meat production.
Minimising Food Waste
To combat food waste, any unconsumed food is creatively repurposed. During afternoon breaks, the events team offers fruit smoothies made from surplus ingredients from breakfast, providing a healthy and sustainable option for event delegates.
Incentivising Sustainability
Delegates who bring their own reusable mugs and who choose public transportation over private vehicles earn additional Hilton reward points. This incentivizes waste reduction and reduces carbon emissions and supports the hotel’s commitment to eco-conscious practices.
Why we love Hilton Heathrow T5 for meetings and events
Our CEO, Anita Lowe, mentions her love for the hotel. “Honestly, I can say that Hilton Heathrow is absolutely superb. The hotel staff excelled with everyone, and I just cannot say this enough. When checking in the night before our conference, Alex was fantastic especially when I called prior to just check the room we had for our accessibility. We got checked in so quickly and Joe helped me with my luggage whilst others were whisked to the bar where the lovely Catherine hosted us. She really is the most amazing Sales Director I have ever met. She has been fantastic with us and both Joe, Zeshan and herself spent so much time with our team. I can also say the cocktail bar is brilliant where the staff are so knowledgeable on their wines. Hilton Heathrow is just excellent and I cannot thank them enough.”
